The Professorship for Strategic Management and Leadership took part in this year’s annual Strategic Management Society conference in Toronto, which revolved around the theme of “Aligning Strategy, Corporate Governance, and Resource Allocation in Turbulent Environments.” At the conference, leading researchers in the field of Strategic Management from around the world presented and discussed the latest results and implications for managers and organizations attempting to align purposefully and efficiently their strategy, governance, and resource allocation in times of heightened uncertainty.

The members of the Professorship took part in the conference in various roles. Prof. Dr. Graf-Vlachy was a panelist in a session on artificial intelligence and its application to measure humor and emotional responses. Furthermore, he was a mentor in a paper development workshop of the Strategic Leadership and Governance interest group. Maximilian Hettler presented his research on incumbent responses to anticipated discontinuous regulatory change and Philipp Borghard discussed his latest results on activist campaigns in a paper development workshop.
