Professorship for Strategic Management and Leadership presented a contribution at the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2025

This year, the Professorship for Strategic Management and Leadership was represented at the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) with the a “completed research paper”. The study by Simon Asbach, Lorenz Graf-Vlachy, Andreas Fügener, and Matthias Schinnen examines how the historical performance of artificial intelligence (AI), relative to a user’s performance in an unrelated task, affects trust in and willingness to collaborate with the AI. The findings show that superior AI performance in an unrelated task reduces trust and willingness to collaborate – despite an overall preference for AI over human counterparts. The study highlights potential risks when organizations overemphasize the multifunctionality of AI systems.
