Seminar talk on the relationship of deviant responses to performance feedback and CEO dismissal

We were pleased to host Stevo Pavićević, Associate Professor of Strategy at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, for a research seminar talk on the topic “Board Expectations Violated: Deviant Response to Performance Feedback and CEO Dismissal.”

In his presentation, he discussed a theoretical framework exploring how CEOs’ responses to performance feedback can influence their risk of dismissal. Using expectancy violation theory, the study examines how unconventional strategies that deviate from industry norms may lead to unfavorable evaluations by the board of directors, leading to a higher risk of dismissal for the CEO. His talk provided interesting insights into the interplay between performance feedback, strategic decision-making, and board evaluations.

We thank Prof. Pavićević for sharing his research and engaging in a lively discussion with the seminar participants!
