New study on media coverage of the sharing economy
Prof. Dr. Graf-Vlachy, together with researchers from the University of Passau and EBS Business School, publishes an article in the journal Technological Forecasting & Social Change. In the article, the authors examine how different actors perform so-called “institutional work” in the context of discontinuous change. In particular, the authors shed light on how the media quote different actors in the context of the emerging sharing economy—using the examples of Uber and Airbnb—and which discursive strategies of the actors become apparent in the process.
